a little gallery of masterpieces
by Princess Inayat, age 6
“Hi! I’m Inayat. Here’s how my art journey began — just doodles! A strawberry, my Barbie, and lots of practice circles.”
“Then I practised the tricky bits again and again. Eyes are SO hard — look close, one hides a teeny heart!”
“Soon I drew the people I love most. This is me and my mommy, with great big happy smiles.”
“Next I made silly characters for fun — meet my dumpling in his cosy basket with the happiest sprinkly face!”
“Then came the animals! My green bunny wore her fanciest dress just to wave hello. Hiii!”
“I love little friends, so I tucked this sleepy one inside a giant pink flower with hearts all around.”
“Then I painted real things — a sunflower and a rose growing in the mud. I even wrote their names!”
“I grew a whole garden in pink! Every flower has heart petals, because flowers are made of love.”
“I got braver and filled a whole big page with flowers, hearts and a cosy patterned blanket. So much love!”
“I tried ALL the colours at once — bright patches and bold patterns everywhere. Wasn’t that brave?”
“Then I designed a dress! Look at the checky skirt and the heart in the middle. The arrow says: wear this one!”
“Soon I could paint a whole person — a pretty girl with long black hair and a sparkly dress. Maybe it’s me!”
“Now I draw stories! This girl is daydreaming about her bunnies — you can see the dream in the big cloud.”
“I drew two flags side by side, India and Pakistan, and then I wrote my name in my biggest, pinkest letters.”
“My whole family together under the sunshine and the happy tree, with the flag up above. Everyone is smiling!”
“And here’s my favourite! Butterflies over my big rainbow — and I signed my name, INAYAT, all by myself.”
“Last of all, my BIGGEST masterpiece — an ocean of duckies, jellyfish and turtles! Splash splash. Thanks for reading! 💛”
More masterpieces are on the way.
